A death of a celebrity that really stuck out to me when I was younger was Anna Nicole Smith. I remember watching E! Network and eating dinner when I found out the news. My family and I were sitting around the dinner table when the news of her death came on the T.V. They were showing her last interview and she was obviously a wreck. She was still struggling with the death of her son, five months before. She was also in a huge feud with her mother, who she has always hated. Anna overdosed on prescription medication, which she seemed to have an addiction with for a long time.
After her death, she was always in the news and media for various reasons. Everyone was waiting for her autopsy report, along with finding out who the custody and father of her daughter goes to, Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern. Finally, it became clear that she overdosed on methadone. She was given a false prescription under a fake name. The court eventually took DNA from Anna, and the judge ruled that the father of Dannielynn is Larry Birkhead.
I was shocked by her death, because from what I remember her by, from her T.V. show and hosting the award show, she always seemed so happy. She did seem unstable, but closer to her death, it seemed like she was starting to sober up more, especially after her son died from an overdose on methadone. The videos that TMZ and E! released after her death were horrifying. There was one video in particular, when she was dressed up like a clown and extremely intoxicated. She didn’t know why she was dressed up, or why she was saying the things she was doing. She was oblivious to what was going on around her, and it was really horrifying to me. It was horrifying especially being that young, to see what can happen to people when their taken over by Hollywood. It seemed that all she was trying to do was have fun, while being a mother, but the life of Hollywood and all the emotional stress in her life caught up to her.
In the book, “Take The Cannoli” she was affected by Frank Sinatra’s death. She didn’t really want to hear about it, so when the news was told of his death, she listened to his music. Sarah had this connection to Frank Sinatra, and thought he was a genius. There was a chapter before the one describing his death, about her love and admiration for him. The chapter also showed the history of Sinatra.
