Making Life Choices

Hello Dolls and Gents!!

When I began to research about a Performing Arts College Berklee College Of Music was my first choice. After being accepted and going through enrollment I didn’t feel secure about the decision I was getting ready to make. Going back and forth between what school I wanted to attend. I ran across a school called Columbia College Chicago. Meanwhile, I began to do research on what Columbia stood for and what did they have to offer.

Reading about how diverse and acceptable Columbia was I looked more into their program. During my high school attended Central Visual and Performing Arts High School. This school was all about the arts. I was one of the most active students they have had. I was in every stage play I sang in every choir.

Also, I took advanced music classes throughout high school. I’ve experienced traveling while working with a Music/Theater company. Given the opportunity to work with Opera Theater was deeply appreciated. Most people in high school never would have the chance to do that as freshman in high school.

For many years I have sung, acting in hundreds of plays. Doing that for so many years has steered me into what I want to really study in college, which is Vocal Performance and Musical Theater. I have chosen those because in musical theater you can become whatever you want. Taking the mind to a place where only your imagination can envision. Experiences I would like to gain why attending Columbia is more knowledge about what I am studying.

Such as writing, directing and producing play. Writing songs and creating music for others is another thing I would like to learn more about. Being able to express myself is very important to me because through music and acting I can freely express that. With that being said I feel that Columbia was a good choice for me. Hopefully it all goes well and I will become very knowledgeable able what I am trying to pursue in life.
