Relaxation, Staci Lyn

Relaxation for me goes hand in hand with my music. The author of my book, Sarah, seems to be the same way. When I have a stressful day or a busy night out I usually come home to turn up the volume of my iPod or choreograph a couple eight counts. Relaxation has to do with my passion. It may be a career choice, but it’s also something that is extremely soothing. Sarah explains in the beginning of the book that if she and her father don’t agree on something she always retires to her music room. She has many instruments that she can choose from to play.

If I need to relax I usually listen to something slow and peaceful that has little drums and many strings. I love the fact that I can use my art to calm me down. Many people have careers that they hate to get up and rush to every single early morning. Luckily music is a part of my everyday life.

When I dance I clear my mind of everything around me. I only focus on my inspirations and what I want to accomplish in my piece. My surroundings are blank and I’m in the zone with my mind. I get to forget everything that I went through during the day and I can just focus on my passion.

Teaching and helping people is also a part of my relaxation process. I love to organize a piece of choreography to teach to a class. Once I’m organized I’m able to help them execute the piece to their best abilities. Almost everything I love helps me relax and calm down.

My career is all around a relaxation process of its own. My passion is euphoric. It helps me along the way, throughout my day.
