In the book lost in place Mark losses his friend in a car accident. The friend name was Michael. He was in a car accident where he fell asleep and went over a curb then hit a tree. It was so sad because I felt like I knew Michael. Mark did a good job at describing Michael and developing his character to us. Also another reason why I felt bad was because it was all true. This wasn’t a fiction story. It was his life and that boy died. It’s like I read about him since he was a little kid until the time he died. And frankly I wasn’t expecting it and neither was Mark. When he got the call he was devastated. I felt bad for him. It’s like they stop talking over something so patty and next thing you know that person is gone.
I think this shows life is too short to be mad all the time and upset about little things. That’s what I tell my girlfriend all the time. I have lost three friends to gun violence. They weren’t even the target. One of my close friends by the name of Samuel Rogers was shot at a party. He wasn’t even at the party he was just coming to his car and about to go back in the house. This put the whole school in a up roar. There was fighting every day. People were also going to jail. We were upset that this gang by the name of 156 went and killed an innocent person for no reason. The day before he was killed we were lifting weights together to be more specific we were squatting; And to know that he didn’t even know what was going to happen to him the next day. I hope one day people would stop the violence.
