I have done a lot of traveling in my life already, but I have many places I want to travel to. There is one place in particular that I have wanted to travel to for a very long time. Ever since I was about 10 years old, I loved the Asian culture. The people, the food, and clothing styles always caught my eye. The country that intrigued me the most was Japan. No wonder my favorite food is Sushi. Something I’m interested in is their street fashion. It’s eccentric and very flashy. One style that I loved the most was the Lolita. There are four main types of Lolita: Gothic, Sweet, Punk, and Classic. There aren’t specific guidelines to the style which gives it a DIY feel. The style is very mix matched and colorful. Some parts of the fashion are very girlish and dolly and other parts were casual and unique. Unlike most American fashions, they aren’t afraid to show off their crazy side.
The place I want to visit the most in Japan is Mount Fuji. Usually when I travel to mountainous areas, my family and I take tours of the beautiful mountains. Mount Fuji, to me, is one of the most beautiful places in the world. There are many travel routes to climb the mountain. Many people have trouble getting to the very top. One of my goals is to climb Mount Fuji because it isn’t an easy feat. I feel that this goal is much like Sarah’s. She seems impulsive and adventurous like me.
Sarah is also interested in traveling to different places. She mentions in the book many places that she traveled to. During her The Godfather obsession she really felt the need to travel to Corleone. Just like my obsession with Japanese culture she was intrigued by the movie and its setting. I wanted to be indulged in everything Japanese.
