Dakarai

I depend on my mother and father to provide me with food and a place to sleep. I depend on my father to give me those words of encouragement every morning before I go to school. “Good luck, have a good day at school and do your best,” my father tells me every morning. If he doesn’t tell me that I feel weird all day. I have to break away from that because I’m moving into the UC this fall and he’s not going to be able to say those words for me all the time. Even though I depend on my mother and father I also have people that depend on me. My brothers and sister depend on me every day. I help them with their homework, I give them advice, and I watch them mostly every day. They depend on me to make them food or to even play with them. It scares me to leave them because I’m with them all the time. My parents are barley home and I feel like I have to take care of them.

Mark also depends on his mother and father to take care of hm. I don’t see mark as a very independent person in this book. I would say because he’s so young. The older you get the more independent you become. Mark needs his father to argue with about what he wants to do with his life. He needs both of his parents to provide for him. Mark also depends on his Sensei to teach him the ways of kung fu. Even though school is not a big thing for mark he also depends on his teachers to teach him the way of education. I feel we all have to depend on somebody in our life time. We can’t just come into the world being independent.
