My Opinion Against Their's...

Hello Dolls and Gents!!

As senior year ended I knew that I was prepared to summit my application to Columbia. I know you are wondering why you waited so long. Well I thought if I waited until senior year I would have a better chance of being admitted since my grades had very much improved. Waiting on Columbia to response was very nerve-wracking. Worrying ever day about whether or I not I was going to admitted. So a few weeks after completing my application I received a call. As the conversation began I had great hope that I was accepted with no dilemma. Awhile after the conversation slowly began to modify into why I may not be admitted.

It felt as if a big opportunity was being taken away. In the book the characters experienced a similar condition referring back to their freedom. I know that they felt as if they did not deserve to be in that situation being taken away from their upbringing. The exact same way I felt when being told I had to attend this program. She began to talk about the bridge program and all of the things I needed to do to actually become a student at Columbia. Starting the bridge program has been a great experience. The bridge program has helped me with socializing with others and not being afraid to showcase my skills inside and out of the class. Several guidelines that I have also obtained are that listening, practicing, and retaining information is key to becoming successful student. Without this program I feel that I would have not solely been prepared for college as I am now.

I have learned to balance work and my social life. Usually I would avoid doing what was important and put it off until it was too late, but know I have learned how to manage my time wisely. At first I have to admit I felt that I did not need the bridge program and it was a total waste of time. Now that I have experienced how serious college really is and it’s what you make it I began to appreciate the help that is given. In saying that this program has been a big help in improving my skills to be ready for college as it is approaching.
