I had a time in my life just like mark where I got a girlfriend and I started to slack in school. My teachers and coaches started to get disappointed in me like Shawn why are you heading down that path you’re not that type of kid where you should let a girl come and just take over your life and not focus in school. Mark is slowly just not starting to focus in school to a point where he is not doing to the required curriculum from when he was getting tutoring.

Mark thought when he went on his date it would be a typical date where he’ll just take her out to a nice restaurant and end up in the backseat. There was a point in my life where the crowd I was hanging out with would just look at girls like a piece of ass. The influence and the people I had in my atmosphere would make me look at girls like a once night stand, but later on in high school that I shouldn’t look at girls like this.

Mark slack in education was that he is in jazz and his history teacher knew he was lying. I had a similar incident where my history teacher talked to me and said the same thing but, I can really relate to marks life because now he is getting serious about music and wants to make it full time I never in my life reading this book would have thought Mark to be attached to music. Mark started to choose music because his girlfriend didn’t like his Kung Fu, I think that mark should of stick to his passion and not have just stopped focusing on that because of some girl that came in his life.
