Comparing Goals

In the book that I am reading titled They Poured Fire On Us From the Sky, we see the main characters having a main goal as they fled away from their troubled village. They took off on bare feet in hopes of getting away from the intruders they encountered while at their village. Like me, these three boys have a main goal in life that they strive to reach on their journey. It is very similar that we are both on a very challenging journey to reach these goals. The lost boy’s goal is to successfully make it through the tough physical conditions of Africa to reach a refugee camp. I find it almost symbolic that these boys’s journey can represent the tough road ahead for me as I work towards reaching my goal of being well respected in the music industry and also having my own music production company. I feel that the physical and also mental pain that these boys received during their time on this journey is however more extreme than the conditions of my journey. They faced starvation as they moved from village to village in hopes of a meal to eat. It wasn’t the easiest thing getting fed when people already have their own kids to feed and look after. Also having to quite often defend yourself against wild animals such as alligators and lions will take a toll on the body of any young boy. These conditions don’t even compare to the conditions that a music artist may face in the industry.
