I’m surprised how Mark chose music since he got a girlfriend and left his passionate hobby of Kung Fu. Seeing mark passionate about Kung Fu and since he got a girlfriend his girl doesn’t like Kung Fu and she was always into music so he wants to do something in common with her; I can see that happening in a relationship but you should never leave your hobby for love. I remember in high school when I played football my girlfriend at that time didn’t like that she wanted me to play soccer. I told her that I wasn’t good at soccer and never took interest in that. It would be nice to see Annette make the same sacrifices for Mark as he doing for her. Mark should realize that she should do something to sacrifice for him and not just he put a 110% in the relationship.
Mark seems really interested in the girl and wants to do what he can to keep her around, I see where he comes from that point because I was in a relationship where I did anything to keep the girl around, but I learned over the years the more you show interest and do anything for the girl they tend to walk all over you. Mark and Annette seem pretty serious because she introduced him to her parents, no one just brings there boyfriend into their house and introduces them to their parents. Mark never mentioned in the book that he had been playing cello since he was seven. I never in my life played an instrument, it’s always good to have a couple different types of hobbies but you should never stop doing what u do best for a relationship especially if you have only been going out for a couple months or weeks. I can really relate myself to Mark now because he wants to make music his full time passion.
