Hello Dolls and Gents!!

I am very excited about the book that I am reading. So far the book has been very interesting and educational. The reason I’ve chosen They Poured Fire on us from the Sky over the other book choices is that I have read many articles about Sudan’s civil war. Reading this book has really open my eyes and it also has really given more insight and more details about what really has happened to the young boys dealing with the massacres in Sudan. When we began to talk about the description of the book and what it was really about I was very excited and drawn to reading this book. Some factors of the book that really influenced my decision Emily Wax said Quote:”Anyone interested in Africa, it’s the children or the human will to survive should read this book.” By her saying that it’s really meant a lot to me. Not only because I enjoy reading stories about Africa’s childhood but because it’s an old African tale. As I began reading the book about the boys from Sudan I really began to appreciate the freedom that I have and appreciate life the struggle that the boys of Sudan had to go through really made me think about life in a different prospective. Many situations that the young boys of Sudan had to deal with were very disturbing and heart breaking. In several articles I’ve read about the boys of Sudan and also in the book they have experienced beating and also they were raped. Yesterday in a lecture a man spoke on how the African where beating and really didn’t have choices in their life. While reading this book I began to think on how the boys of Sudan’s situation were very similar. The struggle the pain and the suffering they had to deal with all related in a unique way and that was very powerful to me. So with that being said this book has exceeded my expectations. I love for you to get the book and go on this journey with me and learn more about Sudan’s struggle.

Bye Love’s…TTYL
