My name is Amani-Star Lee. I’m originally from Phoenix, Arizona but I’ve lived in portage Indiana since I was twelve. I have seventeen brothers and sisters but I only live with two of my sisters. My family comes from the Cook Islands, and Hungary. So that means I’m part Oceanic, part Hungarian, part Indian, and black. I travel a lot to visit family members. I mostly visit Hungary to see my grandparents. I love acting and dancing that is the main reason that I’m here. I’ve known about Columbia since my 9th grade year in high school and I’ve always known I that I wanted to come to this particular college. My friends and family would call me border line crazy because of my randomness and inability to act normal but I can act no other way. I love being silly and having fun. I also like math and science because it’s challenging. My mom likes this about me because when I’m in school I do work all the time and it keeps me occupied and somewhat “normal”. Acting and dancing is what I love and what I do best and to me there is no way I would make it through life without it. Sure I could go to Purdue and major in engineering and I’ll do great but I wouldn’t be happy. I have a lot of associates from high school. I would group jump a lot and talk to everyone. I don’t like being with the same people all the time because I get bored with being with the same people all the time. I could be friends with anybody for the most part; they would just have to be willing to be my friend.
