I come from a family of 5, including myself. I have a mother, Lisa, a father, Michael, an older brother, Michael, and an older sister, Meaghan. Unfortunately, I don’t share common interests with the others in my family, besides my mother. We have an amazing relationship, similar personalities, and share the same likes and dislikes. With my father, brother, and sister, we all clash, but in a good way. Our personalities and interests are so different that they match, because we are all open to learning and trying new things. My father and brother are interested in hunting, motorcycles, racing, and sports. My sister enjoys communications and agriculture.
As in “Take the Cannoli”, she doesn’t share the same common interests as her father or sister Amy, but she has the same passion and devotion as her father for what she spends her time doing, and what she loves. This is a way that I and the character relate. In my family, we all are basically doing our own thing. My father, an underwater welder, my brother who is also a pipefitter, my sister as agriculture major, along with being a mother, and my mother who owns her own boutique and makes custom apparel. With me, I’m very passionate and devoted to attending and graduating college, while knowing what I want out of my future. Everyone in my family shares that similar devotion and dedication, but in different fields. We all know what we want and how we want it, and realize that it’s worth the long hours and tedious work that is put into it to obtain our goals, even if it means going the extra mile. Regardless of different interests, we all still love each other, as Sarah and her father do.
My family will always be my safety net and support group. I understand that they will always be there for me, no matter what, but didn’t realize that until a later age, as Sarah did. They understand that we have to all accept each other for who we are, because without doing that, there would be no individuality and a lot of negative energy. I believe Sarah and my family relate in many similar ways, and these are what I know so far.
