Ok.. Hey everyone my name is Malcolm Kelly. To most people that know me, I go by Mal, Mallie, or Mal Function lol. I graduated from Oak Park and River Forest high school in June and now I’m a first year freshmen here at Columbia College.I plan to major in business and to minor in music. I was born and raised on the Westside of Chicago so this area is nothing more than a backyard or playground to me. I love my city very much and couldn’t see myself being from any other place in the U.S. Over the years I have grown to be a much laid back type of person who doesn’t let much get to me. Being only 17 and surrounded by people older than me much of my life, I’ve had no choice but to become a wise individual. I’m a huge thinker so I really enjoy time where I can just sit and let my thoughts run wild. My passion is music and is why I’ve been producing, recording, and writing music for almost 8 years now. I have a recording studio at my home in Bellwood where I spend a lot of time creating music for me and others. I’ve always dreamed to be some rap star but as I got older turned my plans towards become an owner of my own label after starting my own music production business. I’ve played music instruments such as the piano, guitar, and trumpet which is why putting together sounds has come so natural to me. I’m the only child of my mother but have two brothers and two sisters of my dad. My youngest sister (Madison) who was just born early this year stays in Bellwood with my dad, step mom, and I. I'm a huge fan of sports in fact I played basketball, soccer, and football for park district leagues and for my previous schools. Back in middle school and some of high school my passioni was football. In fact I was the MVP of my team back in 8th grade when I was documented in the Oak Park newspaper for scoring 6 touchdowns in a single game.
